What I do

Everything from a dripping tap to a full bathroom.

One-man business, so you get the same person quoting, doing the work and coming back if anything's not right.

Something's leaking

Taps, toilets, showers, pipework and those mysterious little leaks that need tracking down.

Something's not working properly

Cold radiators, troublesome showers, hot water problems and plumbing that simply isn't behaving as it should.

I've got a little job

Perfect — Pete genuinely likes them. Dripping taps, toilet repairs, replacing fittings and all those jobs you've been meaning to get sorted.

I've got a tricky problem

This is Pete territory. Fault finding, recurring problems, unusual plumbing and older properties where a bit of lateral thinking is needed.

I'm planning something bigger

Bathrooms, kitchen plumbing, hot water cylinders and central heating systems. Pete also has a network of trusted local tradespeople when a project needs other skills.

It's an emergency

Meet Pete

The plumber you'll be glad you called.

Experienced, honest and exceptionally good at solving plumbing problems.

For more than 20 years, Pete has been helping homeowners in Wivenhoe and the surrounding Essex area with everything from dripping taps and troublesome toilets to complete bathrooms, central heating systems and those mysterious plumbing problems that nobody else seems quite able to get to the bottom of.

City & Guilds trained, highly experienced and particularly good at fault finding, Pete has a knack for looking at a problem, thinking laterally and finding a sensible solution.

But there's another reason so many of his customers have kept his number for years. He's someone you can trust. Pete believes in turning up when he says he will, being honest about what needs doing and doing the job properly. He won't recommend work you don't need and he won't try to turn a small problem into an expensive one.

He simply wants you to be happy you called him.

From a dripping tap to a plumbing conundrum

There really is no job too small in fact, Pete genuinely likes the little jobs. Leaking tap driving you mad? Toilet constantly running? Radiator refusing to heat up? Shower misbehaving? Give him a call.

At the other end of the scale, Pete can take care of larger projects including bathrooms, kitchens, hot water cylinders and central heating systems. And if you've got an older property with plumbing that appears to have evolved organically over the past hundred years, even better. Pete loves a puzzle.

When the obvious answer isn't the right answer

Fault finding is one of Pete's particular strengths. With 20 years of experience behind him, he's very good at working out why something is happening rather than simply treating the obvious symptom.

That makes him particularly useful for tricky, unusual or recurring problems, and for working in older properties where things aren't always quite where the textbook says they ought to be. Where a job needs more than one trade, he works alongside local tradespeople he knows and trusts.

20 years of doing things properly

There's a reason much of Pete's work comes from repeat customers and recommendations. He cares. About doing a good job, about finding the right solution rather than the most expensive one, and about your home. It genuinely matters to him that when he leaves, you're happy with the work.

A local plumber you can keep

Finding a good plumber shouldn't mean starting another Google search every time something goes wrong. Pete has customers who have called him for years, and that's exactly how he likes to work.

Do a good job. Be fair with people. Turn up. Be helpful. And hopefully, the next time you need a plumber, you already know who to call.

Questions

The things people ring and ask.

Do you charge a call-out fee?
No. I don't charge to come and look at a job or to give you a quote. You only pay once I actually start work, and you'll have agreed the price before I do.
How quickly can you get to an emergency?
If it's a burst or a flood in Wivenhoe or the nearby villages, usually within the hour during the day. If I'm already under someone's floor and can't get to you, I'll tell you that on the phone rather than string you along — and I'll usually know who can.
Will you take the old bath and packaging away?
Yes, that's included. Old suites, radiators, boxes, offcuts — it all goes in the van and gets disposed of properly. You shouldn't be left with a skip's worth of rubbish in your front garden.
What if something goes wrong after you've left?
All my labour is guaranteed for twelve months. If something I've fitted or fixed plays up, ring me and I'll come back and put it right. Parts carry whatever the manufacturer's warranty is, and I'll leave you the paperwork.
How do I pay?
Bank transfer or card on the day. I'll email you an itemised invoice with the parts receipts attached. No cash-only nonsense, and everything goes through the books.
